1. Who we are and scope of this policy
KlarBudget ("KlarBudget", "we", "us"), Leopoldstraße 47, 80802 München, Germany, is the controller within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) for the cookies and similar technologies described in this Cookies Policy. This policy applies to the website klarbudget.com and all subpages operated by us. It supplements our Privacy Policy and explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.
If you have questions about this policy or wish to exercise your data protection rights, you can contact us at any time by email at [email protected] or by post at KlarBudget, Leopoldstraße 47, 80802 München, Germany.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and collect information about how the site is used. We also use comparable technologies such as local storage, pixels, and software development kits (SDKs), which are collectively referred to as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third parties such as analytics and advertising providers ("third-party cookies"). Cookies may be "session cookies", which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent cookies", which remain stored on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.
3. Legal basis for setting cookies
Under Section 25 (1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG, formerly TTDSG) and Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR, we only set cookies that are not strictly necessary after you have given your consent through our cookie consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of Section 25 (2) TDDDG, as they are technically required to provide the service you have expressly requested. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future; the procedure is described in Section 7 of this policy.
4. Categories of cookies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary (essential) cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function correctly and securely. They store your cookie consent preferences so that we do not have to ask you on every visit. Because they are essential, they do not require your consent and cannot be disabled through the banner.
- Consent preference cookie — stores your cookie choices (accepted, rejected or saved preferences) for 180 days.
- Security and load-balancing cookies — protect the site against misuse and ensure stable delivery of pages during your session.
4.2 Analytics (statistics) cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website — for example, which pages are visited most often, how long visitors stay, and where they come from. This information allows us to improve the structure and content of the site. These cookies are only set with your consent.
- Aggregate page-view and session measurement — duration: up to 24 months; data is used in aggregated or pseudonymised form wherever possible.
- Referral and campaign measurement — duration: up to 90 days; used to understand which content attracts visitor interest.
4.3 Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies are used to display relevant content and offers, measure the effectiveness of our campaigns, and avoid showing you the same content repeatedly. These cookies may also be set by third-party providers and enable profiling across websites. They are only set with your explicit consent.
- Campaign conversion tracking — duration: up to 12 months; measures whether visitors who saw our advertising become clients.
- Retargeting and audience building — duration: up to 12 months; allows more relevant advertising on partner platforms.

6. Third parties and data transfers
Where third-party cookies are used, the respective provider acts as a controller for the data it collects. Before such providers process personal data on our behalf or for their own purposes, we conclude data processing agreements or joint-controller arrangements as required by the GDPR. Some providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In such cases, transfers are based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional technical and organisational safeguards such as encryption and IP anonymisation where technically possible. You can request details of the providers currently in use and the safeguards applied at any time by emailing [email protected].
7. Managing your cookie preferences
You have full control over the use of non-essential cookies:
- Cookie banner: On your first visit, our banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or save a custom selection of categories. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to operate.
- Changing your choice: You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, email us at [email protected] and we will reset your consent so that the banner is displayed again on your next visit.
- Browser settings: Every common browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera) allows you to block or delete cookies via its privacy settings. Please note that if you block essential cookies, parts of this website may not function correctly.
- Effect of withdrawal: Withdrawing consent only takes effect for the future. Cookies already set before withdrawal will be deleted when they expire or when you clear them via your browser.
8. Data processed via cookies
Depending on the cookies set, the following data may be processed: IP address (truncated or anonymised where technically possible), date and time of access, pages viewed, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, approximate location derived from the IP address, and the referrer page. This data is generally not used to directly identify you; however, in combination with other data it may be considered personal data within the meaning of the GDPR, which is why we treat it accordingly.
The storage period for each cookie is listed in Section 5. Personal data collected via cookies is deleted or anonymised as soon as it is no longer needed for the purposes described above, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — to obtain information about the data we process about you;
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — to correct inaccurate data;
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — to have data deleted under the statutory conditions;
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — in particular to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7 (3) GDPR) at any time with effect for the future;
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), which is responsible for our registered office.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or write to KlarBudget, Leopoldstraße 47, 80802 München, Germany. We will respond within one month of receipt of your request, as required by Art. 12 (3) GDPR.
10. Changes to this Cookies Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in the technologies on our website, or in legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page and indicates the date of the last update. If the changes materially affect your rights, we will ask for your consent again via the cookie banner before setting non-essential cookies.
